Along marked walkways (guide book on sale at the tourist office), make the most of the unspoiled landscape, between broom and gorse. Guided walks and rides are available all year round. Further afield, discover Penestin surrounding area riding a mountain bike, the best way to stay fit and enjoy the scenery. Penestin boasts several mountain bike marked circuits.

Every Wednesday and Sunday mornings from 8 am until 1. 30 pm in season and only Sundays the rest of the year.

 THE GOLD MINE
Listed geological site, unique in Europe. For a long time, agriculture has been Penestin's main activity. Exploiting a gold mine caused a sensation in the late 19th century. Yielding very little gold, mining ended with the first world war. The name remains linked to the largest beach where the cliffs, at sunset, take on the colour of the precious metal. These cliffs are most interesting to national geologists.

Fly over Gold Mine beach golden cliffs and discover the site from the skies.
ADVICE
You should not leave the resort before you have visited "Maison de la Myticulture" (mussel farming). This lighthouse, given a new lease of life, will disclose to visitors one of the secrets of Penestin's heritage.
